Paddy Collins is the secretary of the Westmeath county board, and a former referee.
Considered one of the most famous referees in Gaelic football[1], [2], he was the referee for four All-Ireland Senior Football finals, in 1976, 1981, 1984, and 1989.
In addition to refereeing and his position as secretary on the Westmeath county board, Collins also served as the GAA’s National Referees Administrator.[3]
One of Paddy’s whistles is featured in Lár na Páirce’s “Knights of the Whistle” exhibit.
