Presidents of the GAA: Paddy Buggy

Paddy Buggy (1929-2013), Kilkenny, was the twenty-seventh president of the GAA (1982-1985)

As a hurler with Slieverue, Buggy won a senior county title in 1954. He played for Kilkenny at the county level from 1949 to 1960, winning five Leinster medals, and an All-Ireland medal in 1957.

Buggy managed the Leinster team, who won the Railway Cup five years in a row, from 1971 to 1975. As an administrator, he was secretary for Slieverue, before taking roles in the Kilkenny County board, and as Chairman of the Leinster Council.
