Presidents of the GAA: Sean McCarthy

Sean McCarthy (died 1974), Cork, was the eleventh president of the GAA (1932-1935).

Sean McCarthy was a hurler and footballer both in his native Cork, and in Waterford.

He was a member of the Cork county committee for 60 years, becoming chairman at the age of 27.[1].

He served five terms as a Fianna Fáil TD, and served four terms as Lord Mayor of Cork.
