George Ryan, Tipperary, is a former referee.
Ryan was the referee for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling final in 1979 and 1985.
In 2012, at the National Referees’ Awards, Ryan was inducted into the Hall of Fame.[1]
One of George’s whistles is on display in Lár na Páirce, in the “Knights of the Whistle” exhibit.
